Pokémon's Back And More Popular Than Ever

It all started on Nintendo's Game Boy with a pair of games developed by Game Freak. Centered around creatures known as Pokémon and people who train them called Pokémon Trainers, catch and train to battle each other for sport. Now they have trading cards, animated tv shows and movies to go along with their video games. Pokémon is now the second largest video game franchise behind Nintendo's Mario. Not bad.

2016 marks the 20th anniversary of the release of the original games, which the company celebrated by airing an ad during Super Bowl 50 and issuing re-releases of Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow.

 Pokémon GO
Allows you to travel between the real world and the virtual world of Pokémon with Pokémon GO for iPhone and Android devices. Pokémon GO uses real locations to encourage players to search far and wide in the real world to discover Pokémon. With over more than a hundred species of Pokémon to find, you can explore your surroundings and find them all.

The Pokémon video game series has used real-world locations such as the Hokkaido and Kanto regions of Japan, New York, and Paris as inspiration for the fantasy settings in which its games take place. In Pokémon GO, the real world will be the setting! This is an awesome feature that has many people exploring the world around them which has led people into all kinds of situations including car crashes and discovering dead bodies.
