It all started on Nintendo's Game Boy with a pair of games developed by Game Freak. Centered around creatures known as Pokémon and people who train them called Pokémon Trainers, catch and train to battle each other for sport. Now they have trading cards, animated tv shows and movies to go along with their video games. Pokémon is now the second largest video game franchise behind Nintendo's Mario. Not bad.
2016 marks the 20th anniversary of the release of the original games, which the company celebrated by airing an ad during Super Bowl 50 and issuing re-releases of Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow.

In Pokémon GO, the real world will be the setting! This is an awesome feature that has many people exploring the world around them which has led people into all kinds of situations including car crashes and discovering dead bodies.
